We don't just offer assistance and free education; we ignite creativity.

2024 Summer Program

Every summer, Seedling Sun proudly presents a diverse array of workshop series, designed to ignite the imaginations of young minds and cultivate their creative talents. Our offerings span an impressive range of subjects—from the art of creative storytelling and the intricacies of illustrating stories to the techniques of sketching, the vibrant world of watercolor, the rhythm of poetry, the craft of essay writing, and the fascinating realm of robotics. Each workshop is meticulously crafted to not only inspire but also to enhance students' skills in design, illustration, and writing.

The response to these workshops is nothing short of extraordinary. Within moments of announcing new sessions, spots are claimed, and our waitlists grow rapidly as eager students vie for a chance to participate. The enthusiasm from both students and parents is a testament to the value of these free workshops. Parents consistently express their appreciation for the positive impact these sessions have on their children's creative and intellectual growth. Meanwhile, students immerse themselves in learning, emerging with newfound confidence and a deeper passion for their crafts.

Volunteers from Seedling Sun are deeply committed to sharing their knowledge and nurturing children to become creative thinkers and innovators. They provide students with the tools and inspiration needed to explore their full potential. Our workshops are more than just classes—they are a vibrant community where young talents flourish, united by a shared passion for learning and creativity

Sending greeting cards to Hosptial

The holidays are a perfect time to thank your medical team. Seedling Sun Foundation not only donates greeting cards made by volunteers but also organizes kids to write heartfelt messages to doctors and nurses, decorating the envelopes with their favorite drawings and paintings. This is our way of showing appreciation for healthcare workers and supporting them as they help cancer patients in their fight.

Fundraising for Good Causes

Many thanks to the Old Pearland Farmers Market for letting us set up a booth yesterday. We had a lot of fun selling our holiday cards, bookmarks, and flower frames. We are very grateful for everyone who bought our original designs and crafts. This was our first time selling our products at local market, and the neighboring booths were incredibly supportive and friendly. It was a great learning experience, and we are looking forward to the next time.

NID Project Fall 2023

The Neighborhoods, Identity, & Diversity Project Fall 2023, jointly organized by YAH, Color The Sky, Clemence Youth Foundation, Colors of Compassion, Seedling Sun, and Art Green Island, will take place on October 7th.

Event Details: Participants will learn and create a coffered ceiling mural. The students' artwork will be donated and installed in various kidney disease clinics' dialysis rooms across the state of Texas, USA, so that kidney disease patients no longer have to face cold, blank ceilings while receiving dialysis, but instead, they will have beautiful modern murals.

Digital illustration Workshop series

During the summer, we organized a series of digital illustration workshops—lessons aimed at fostering students' imagination and creativity while enhancing their design and illustration skills, particularly for short story illustrations.  The response was overwhelming, with spots filling up within minutes of posting the lessons. Students eagerly joined the waiting list, demonstrating their enthusiasm for digital art, which greatly inspired our volunteers. This phenomenon also occurred at our Califolia branch, where the lessons were warmly received, keeping our tutors busy designing engaging sessions

Creative Writing Competition

In our first-ever writing competition, we were truly amazed by the imaginative and creative prowess exhibited by the students. Their creation of beautiful and unique short stories was infused with passion and depth, showcasing their enthusiasm and fervor for storytelling. These narratives vividly conveyed their depth of emotion and creativity. We strongly believe that given the right opportunities and guidance, anyone holds the potential to evolve into a skilled storyteller.

Summer Reading & Writing Program

Our initiative proudly organized and hosted a complimentary reading and creative writing program tailored local summer camp students. This program aimed to provide free access to literary resources and nurturing the creative potential within each participant.

Throughout the sessions, students were immersed in a supportive environment that encouraged a love for reading and cultivated their writing skills. We curated an engaging curriculum that not only focused on enhancing literacy but also fostered creativity through various writing prompts, exercises, and interactive discussions.

With a strong emphasis on inclusivity and personalized attention, our program catered to the diverse needs and interests of each student. We provided access to a wide array of story books, facilitated open discussions, and guided aspiring writers in honing their storytelling abilities
